History
Backed with a family involvement in real estate, and with the philosophy that "service is the heart of our business," Dan and George first opened the doors of Lambros Real Estate in the late summer of 1961. With their lone staff member Ruth Appleberry, in a small office on West Broadway, Dan and George provided services in real estate, insurance, and rentals. As the company grew beyond the family that first decade, so did its commitment to be Missoula's most professional provider of real estate services. Lambros' exclusive commitment to real estate professionalism was marked in 1968 by a move to its office at 1001 S. Higgins. The twelve agents at Lambros believed with that specialization, the company could best serve its clientele. The resulting specialty departments -- residential, commercial, ranch & land, development, and later property management have since remained fundamental to the Lambros service ethic as we have moved in to our newest offices at 3011 American Way. Lambros Real Estate merged with Friia and Company in 1991. Friia and Company is owned and operated by Bruno and Marsha Friia. With them, they bring their expertise in real estate as well as property management. Marsha is a native of Missoula with over 19 years of real estate management experience. She is a certified instructor in real estate management for Montana and is an accredited Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA). Bruno has over 25 years of real estate experience including companies in four states. He chaired the National Association of REALTORS Property Management Forum, is a past director of the National Association of Residential Property Managers and former Commissioner for the Department of Realty Regulation. Bruno also teaches the Property Manage Pre-Licensing Course for the state of Montana and is a national speaker. Bruno has served as the Chief Financial Officer of a family real estate company, Friia & Company, in San Francisco, Hawaii, and his native city, Philadelphia. Currently, Bruno is the Chief Executive Officer with overall management responsibilities covering all areas of the company. He is very active in the community and continues to keep Lambros on the leading edge with the latest innovative technology. Dan Worell became the company president as well and General Sales Manager for the real estate division in 2002 after becoming a partner. Dan originally joined Lambros in 1973 and was a part of that team until 1979; he left to open his own businesses before returning to Lambros in 1988. In 1990, he was promoted to General Sales Manager. Dan brings to his presidency over 28 years of real estate experience. He was salesperson of the year in 1978 and has served as state director of MAR and local director of Missoula County Association of REALTORS from 1976-1981. Dan has owned and operated businesses as well as multi-family projects and has earned a B.A. degree in psychology from the University of Montana. Tom Round joined Lambros Real Estate in 1988 and became Vice president of Sales in January 2007 after managing our Hamilton office from 2000 through 2006. Tom has over 30 years of real estate experience including ownership and management of offices in Missoula, Florence and Hamilton, prior to joining Lambros. He was past president and REALTOR of the year in 1985 for the Bitterroot Valley Board of Realtors. Prior to entering real estate, Tom was a manager for UPS in Rochester Minnesota. Tom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the University of Minnesota. Of all accomplishments, Tom is most proud of successfully raising five children and of his fourteen grandchildren. George and Dan Lambros continue to be part of the business and are involved on an advisor basis at all times, and hold dear the principles of integrity of the real estate business. The company's commitment to providing real estate service throughout Western Montana has also increased with the additions of branch offices in the Southgate Mall in 1978, Hamilton in 1994, Seeley Lake in 2000, Polson in 2001, Drummond in 2006, Philipsburg in 2006, and Frenchtown in 2006. What does this all add up to? For years, Lambros Real Estate has been #1 in combined listings and sales. While a lot has changed at Lambros over the past 44 years, a few things have not.
